Jason F. Taylor's practice focuses primarily on family law, criminal defense and civil litigation. Mr. Taylor works hard for his clients, always seeking justice and the optimum results for each client.

Mr. Taylor is a native of Charleston, South Carolina; attended public schools in Mt. Pleasant; graduated with distinction from the College of Charleston where he was a member and a leader of various student organizations. As a member of the College's South Carolina Student Legislature Team, he was awarded "Best Legislation" at the statewide General Assembly. Also, Mr. Taylor was awarded a merit-based grant to study development in Havana, Cuba.

He received his law degree from the University of Florida. While at University of Florida, Levin College of Law, Mr. Taylor was awarded Book Awards in Moot Court; Law, Science and Policy; and International Law in recognition of achieving the highest grade in his class. While attending law school, Mr. Taylor was an active member of the Jessup Moot Court Team, attending several national competitions and ultimately served as President of the Jessup Moot Court Board. He has authored and collaborated on numerous scholarly articles; one article which he co-authored with a former law school professor, "Misappropriation of Shuar Traditional Knowledge and Trade Secrets: A Case Study on Biopiracy in the Amazon," was published in the University of Florida, Journal of Technology Law & Policy.

Mr. Taylor also earned his Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and published his graduate thesis "A Short History of Corporate Accountability: A Commentary on International Legal Personality and an Analysis of Human Rights Litigation in United States Courts under the Alien Tort Statute."

Prior to returning to Charleston, Mr. Taylor was an Associate at a South Florida plaintiff's firm, where his legal practice concentrated in the areas of complex and catastrophic civil litigation including personal injury and wrongful death, product liability, negligence, inadequate premises security/violent crime, motor vehicle, insurance coverage and bad faith, and equine liability.

Today, when not involved in his extensive family law and criminal defense litigation practice, Mr. Taylor likely will be found studying and writing on legal issues or lecturing at the College of Charleston where he is an adjunct professor teaching courses in crime, law and governance.
