William Z Smith

William Z. SmithWilliam is currently in his second year of law, with a focus on Admiralty and Maritime law, for which the school has garnered a sterling reputation. Prior to his attendance at Charleston School of Law, William attended the University of Georgia, where he studied History and Political Science. It was the study of History, along with his family's influence, that he took up an interest in the history and evolution of the American legal system. Through extensive writing and research, William's passion for the law flourished, and it is through this historical lens of the law that he adds valuable perspective to its practice.

He was recently appointed to the Charleston Law Review, where he plans to continue his examination of proposed State and Federal law. William sits on the Student Board of the Charleston County Bar Association, and holds active memberships in various legal and civic organizations throughout the Charleston community.
