D. J. Shymansky has lived in Charleston since 2004. He originally moved to the Lowcountry as a practicing real estate attorney from Maryland and worked as a Patrol Officer under Chief Reuben Greenberg in the Charleston City Police Department covering the West Ashley area. He leveraged his law background into a profitable real estate career with a local real estate company and worked for 14 years as a realtor helping local families purchase and sell their Lowcountry homes. D.J. has a dual degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Frostburg State University (B.A.) and his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law (J.D.).
One of the more seasoned real estate attorneys in the Lowcountry, D.J. has presided over ten thousand plus residential and commercial real estate transactions in his multi-state career, ranging from first-time homebuyers to large commercial land development purchases. His passion for real estate and his desire to help people achieve their dream of owning their own homes and land have driven him to succeed in real estate law and to establish his reputation as one of the most trusted real estate advisors in the Lowcountry.
Outside of the office, D.J. enjoys spending his time with his wife, Stacy, and their two beautiful children, Grace and Jackson. They enjoy the outdoors, the local beaches and waterways. Eventually, D.J. will cave and finally get Stacy a boat!
