Bill McIntosh is a life-long resident of Summerville, where he graduated from Summerville High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Clemson University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the College of Charleston. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of Wig & Robe and served on the Student Editorial Board of the ABA Real Property, Probate & Trust Journal. After law school, he returned to Summerville where he has worked as a state prosecutor and in private practice.
Bill has been admitted to practice before the South Carolina Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. He practices primarily in the areas of criminal, family and personal injury law. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Dorchester County Bar Association.
Bill serves as an elected Town Councilman for the Town of Summerville. He previously served as a Trustee of Pinewood Preparatory School and as a Director of the Summerville-Dorchester Museum. He is an active member of the Summerville Exchange Club, the Dorchester Boat Club, and the Dorchester County Clemson Club. He is the proud father of two daughters who are students at the Medical University of South Carolina and Washington & Lee University.
