Deanne Gray received her B.A. in History/Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, in Bradford, Pennsylvania. She graduated with honors and was inducted into Pi Gamma Mu, an International Social Studies Honor Society, and served as Vice-President for Alpha Lambda Delta, a National Freshman Honor Society. Deanne then attended Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. During her time at Rutgers, Deanne interned with the Pennsylvania Superior Court and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Deanne relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where she clerked for the late Judge William L. Howard, Sr. on the South Carolina Court of Appeals. She then became an Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit and prosecuted juvenile offenders. In 2006, Deanne relocated to Fort Worth, Texas with her family. While in Texas, she served as a Prosecuting City Attorney and an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Fort Worth.
Upon returning to South Carolina, Deanne became the Managing Attorney for the South Carolina Department of Social Services in Dorchester County in 2013. She remained with DSS until she joined Cobb, Dill & Hammett as a Family Law Attorney in 2022.
Deanne practices in the area of family law. She believes it is rewarding to step into a difficult situation and walk a family through it, answer their questions, be the voice of reason, and achieve for them the best possible result.
