When an accident comes without warning, even the most prepared person can fall victim. One moment, you're walking to a restaurant after a long day of work. The next moment, someone else's negligence and carelessness change your life forever. Personal injury victims aren't just the victims of negligence they suffer from pain, concern over family and ability to work. Often, these victims do not have the luxury of worrying about work and family, because they're clinging to life in an ER. Without a personal injury attorney in Taylors, SC, by their side, they mistakenly provide official statements to insurance agencies and accept settlement offers that only account for a fraction of what they have lost.
If you have recently been hurt in an accident, you may be asking questions like:
With more than 100,000 car accidents in South Carolina every year, we hear these questions every day. Our hearts hurt for those who are suffering due to no fault of their own. Accident victims are not only left with questions like those above; they're also forced to deal with costs associated with medical bills, car repair, follow-up appointments, and loss of income.
While reading these facts can be bleak, there is a silver lining. South Carolina law dictates that those who are found responsible for your pain and suffering may be obligated to pay for your expenses. Cobb Dill & Hammett, LLC exists for that exact reason to make sure that negligent parties are held accountable. We fight on your behalf to make sure you get the compensation you deserve. We aren't afraid to go toe-to-toe with greedy insurance agencies who do not have your best interests at heart.
Our overarching goal is to protect your rights, and our law firm is uniquely positioned to do so, with attorney Michael Dillâs vast experience in the auto insurance industry.
We offer comprehensive vehicle representation for a number of different automobile accidents, including:
If you know you have been involved in one of the car accidents above, the time to seek experienced representation is now. Generally, car accident victims have three years from the date of their injuries to file a personal injury claim in Taylors. That time frame can be reduced in certain circumstances. When a wrongful death is involved, surviving family members must take action in a similar time frame.
The bottom line is that speed is of the essence in these cases. When we sit down with you to learn more about your accident, we will help you understand South Carolina law so that you are fully informed before taking legal action. The sooner we can dig into the details of your case, the sooner we can fight for your rights.
The law states that personal injury victims are entitled to compensation for the full extent of their injuries. Why? Because the primary goal of injury compensation in Taylors, SC, is to help the victim return to the state they would have been in, if the accident never occurred. In the literal sense, doing so isn't possible. The law cannot reverse the incredible suffering and pain that accompanies a severe injury. As such, personal injury victims are entitled to receive a financial reward that equals those damages.
How much compensation you get depends on the facts and nuances of your case. With that said, you may be able to recover compensation for the following needs:
If you or someone you love was recently injured in a car wreck, contact our office today to speak with a personal injury lawyer in Taylors, SC. The sooner you call, the sooner we can begin fighting for your rights and the compensation you need.
If there were one common truth that we can count on, it's that life is unpredictable. Sometimes, accidents just happen. However, when recklessness and negligence come into play in situations where accidents cause personal injuries, the negligent party can be held responsible under South Carolina law. For victims to have a chance at compensation, the party responsible for the accident must be proven to be negligent. When a party or parties are negligent, they fail to take appropriate care when performing an action, like driving an automobile.
After an accident occurs, it is critical to take certain steps to help prove the responsible party's negligence and maximize the compensation you rightly deserve.
All too often, car wreck victims don't get the compensation they need because they failed to take the proper steps after their accident. Don't let this be you. By having comprehensive records of your car accident and its aftermath, you have a much better chance of protecting your rights and maximizing compensation for your bills and injuries. If you have been injured in an automobile accident in Taylors, follow these steps before doing anything else:
First and foremost, seek medical attention for any injuries that you have sustained. You might not realize it now, but your injuries may be more complex and serious than you think. Damage like head trauma and back injuries are not easy to diagnose on your own and sometimes take time to surface. A full medical examination will help reveal the extent of your injuries, lead to a quicker recovery, and help document the injuries you sustained. This last part is essential to prove the significance of your injuries.
The second step you should take is to report your injuries to the correct authorities. The authorities change depending on the circumstances of your accident. If you were involved in a car wreck in Taylors, you should file your report with the highway authorities and any associated insurance agencies. Regardless of where you were injured and how the wreck occurred, the biggest takeaway here is to file a report. That way, you have an established, official record of the incident that can be referred to down the line.
Personal injury cases in Taylors are won with evidence. It might sound like the job of the police, but it's important that you try to secure any evidence that you can collect relating to your accident, especially if you are injured. Evidence in auto accident cases tends to disappear quickly. By preserving evidence soon after the accident, it can be used in court. For example, if you cannot get a witness statement immediately after your wreck, their testimony may come across as less reliable. Completing this task on your own can be quite difficult, especially after a serious accident. That's why it's so crucial to complete the last step below.
One of the most intelligent, important steps you can take after a car accident is calling a personal injury attorney in Taylors, SC. At Cobb Dill & Hammett, LLC, we will assist you with every step of your personal injury case to ensure that your rights are protected. That includes gathering all types of evidence relevant to your case. When we investigate your accident, we will determine the person who is liable for your losses. If there are multiple liable parties, we will hold each one accountable for their negligence.
Every personal injury case is different, which is why experience counts when it comes to car accident compensation. Our track record speaks for itself, but no number of past results will guarantee a perfect outcome. What we can guarantee, however, is our undivided attention and fierce dedication to your case, no matter the circumstances. Unlike other personal injury law firms in Taylors, you can have peace of mind knowing your best interests always come first at Cobb Dill & Hammett, LLC.
At Cobb Dill & Hammett, LLC, we have years of experience handling some of Taylors's most complicated car accident cases. Some of the most common cases that come across our desks include:
Drunk driving is a major problem in the Lowcountry. Drunk drivers are incredibly irresponsible and regularly cause fatal accidents because they drive physically and mentally impaired by alcohol. Drunk drivers have slower reaction times, delayed reflexes, and impaired vision, making them unfit to operate a motor vehicle. In auto wrecks, drunk drivers often come away with minor injuries compared to their victims, which is a bitter pill to swallow
Individuals who make a choice to drive drunk cause accidents by weaving in and out of traffic, going over the speed limit, failing to see pedestrians, and ignoring traffic laws. They may run cars off the road, rear-end vehicles, hit them head-on, or even cause a vehicle to roll over.
Drunk driving accidents in Taylors care result in horrible injuries, such as:
If you are injured or have lost a family member due to an impaired or drunk driver, our team of personal injury lawyers in Taylors can help. We have extensive experience with car accident cases and can explain your rights in simple, plain terms. It is important to know that you can file a personal injury suit regardless of the criminal case outcome against the drunk driver.
When accidents happen in RVs or rental cars, people are often unsure of their rights. This confusion is understandable since there are additional insurance and legal issues that must be accounted for in these cases.
Fortunately, the lawyers at Cobb Dill & Hammett, LLC, have the experience to help you with complex car accident and RV cases. Attorney Michael Dill worked in the auto insurance industry before becoming an attorney. He also has an undergraduate degree that includes a focus on risk management and insurance. When it comes to rental and RV accidents, we review each client's case with a fine-tooth comb. Once we understand your accident, our team will explain your rights and options in easy-to-understand terms.
If you were involved in an accident while driving an RV or a rental vehicle, you may find that your auto insurance company, the rental car's insurance company, and the other party's insurance carrier will try to deny your claim. Situations like these call for a bold, experienced personal injury attorney in Taylors, SC, who isn't afraid of large corporations and insurance groups. We have extensive experience with insurance companies and know how to interpret policies. As your advocate, we will ensure that you receive the coverage and compensation you are entitled to, even if an insurance company says you aren't.
We can help you seek compensation in cases that involve:
Victims of RV and rental car accidents (as well as their families) may be entitled to compensation for pain and suffering, medical expenses, and lost income or benefits. Our personal injury lawyers work with life-care planners, medical experts, and economists to determine the amount of compensation you will need.
We live in a time where just about everyone has their eyes glued to their phones. Often, this happens in situations where the person needs to be paying attention, like when they're driving an automobile. Taking a few moments to glance down at your phone can cause irreparable damage to other drivers. That is why texting while driving is illegal in Taylors. Typically, this crime is met with a minor traffic violation. However, when a distracted driver injures another motorist, you can seek compensation through a legal suit. If you have been injured in such a situation, our team can help you hold the negligent driver accountable for your losses and damages.
Texting takes drivers' minds and eyes off the road and their hands off the wheel. Because they are not paying attention to their driving,
They miss crucial road signs and information such as:

Thrift shops can bring big deals that really help families on a tight budget. But, usually, you don’t find everything on your list at a single thrift shop, which is one of the things that makes the Greer to Taylors, SC corridor of Wade Hampton Boulevard such a great spot for thrifting. You can visit 6 unique thrift shops across this little 8-mile stretch of Wade Hampton Boulevard.
And that’s just what my daughter and I set out to do one Saturday morning. We spent several hours and totally checked every box on her clothing AND shoe wish list. Plus I found several cute items for myself, 3 dress shirts for my husband in a usually hard-to-find size, some shorts and t-shirts for my sons, and bonus: the cutest spring teapot ever.
Usually, all of the items in a thrift store are donated to the store, and the profit the stores make benefits a specific cause. This is different than a consignment shop where you’ll still find great deals, but it’s the store and the consigner earning the profits. There’s nothing wrong with a great consignment shop, but in this story we’re focusing on the thrift stores, who they benefit, and what they offer.
At the shops in this article, in addition to good deals that help your family budget, you’ll also be helping fund job programs, fight homelessness, helping children with cancer, animals, and victims of domestic violence.
Before we get to the shops, here are a few things to keep in mind.
14179 E Wade Hampton Blvd, GreerOpen: 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday
Beginning in Greer near Lyman, is the Miracle Hill Thrift Shop. This is a larger thrift shop with clothing for men, women, and children, plus furniture, housewares, books, and sometimes even big-ticket items like kayaks!
Prices here are marked on the rack so all pants are one price, etc, unless otherwise marked. Don’t forget to check their clearance section where all items are $1.
Clothes and items are well organized by size, but you’ll have to do some digging if you’re looking for housewares, books, etc.
This thrift shop does offer dressing rooms to try on your items before you buy!
Miracle Hill Thrift Shops benefit Miracle Hill Ministries helping homelessness.

Benefitting animals in need, the Carolina Thrift shop offers a cozy and well-organized shop with a homey feel. They have great prices on clothing ($2 per piece), jewelry, and accessories. They have a free coffee bar for shoppers, a media room with many books, DVDs, and vinyl records for sale.
This shop is where I found my cute spring teapot among the pretty spring displays at the front of the shop. This is a great place to shop AND browse.
Think you’ll be a frequent shopper? Don’t forget to pick up a rewards punch card at the register.
1333 W Wade Hampton Blvd, Greer, SCOpen: 9 am to 9 pm Monday-Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm on Sundays
The Goodwill Thrift Shop in Greer is another larger thrift shop. It benefits Goodwill programs which provide career services and help for job seekers.
You’ll find clothing, media, housewares, and more at Goodwill. Clothing is organized by small, medium, large, etc. So you’ll spend time here looking for numbered sizes in each section. Don’t forget to take note of the color tags that are on sale. We scored a nice dress shirt for my husband for 50 cents with the sale tags.
Goodwill Industries of the Upstate
5152 Wade Hampton Blvd, Taylors, SCOpen: 9 am to 5:30 pm weekdays and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays
The Salvation Army Family Store in Taylors is a little more compact than other similar thrift shops, but it has a wide variety of clothing, shoes, and household items at great prices.
This is another shop where you’ll need to spend a little time looking at the sizes on each item within sections to find what works for you. But, it’s worth it! My daughter’s new favorite pair of boots came from this Salvation Army Family Store, and we paid just $5 for them.
3245 Wade Hampton Blvd, TaylorsOpen: 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday
Carol’s Hope Thrift stores benefit families dealing with childhood cancer. They help with these families’ financial and emotional needs.
They have 4 shops total, another in Spartanburg, Easley, and Boiling Springs. Follow the Carol’s Hope Facebook page for discount days, and stories about the local children they are helping.
At the Taylors store you’ll find lots of clothing, priced via tag color. Check the signs on the end of the racks to help you figure out how much each item is. You might pay just $1 for a cute top, or closer to $8 or $9 depending on the item. I found a couple of very cute spring dresses for myself here and paid $13 total.
There’s also a large space with furniture and housewares that we enjoyed browsing.
2830 Wade Hampton Boulevard, GreenvilleOpen: 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday
I think this is my new favorite thrift shop. It’s huge and extremely well organized. The displays of housewares and shoes and color-coordinated and look like an interior designer put them together. Someone puts a lot of time into the organization of this place and it makes it feel like you’re shopping in a high-end boutique, with thrift store prices, of course. It’s a fun place just to go browse.
This shop has one of the larger children’s sections with lots of clothing at great prices. We got several pairs of pants and tops for my baby nephew at about $2 per piece and everything was in great condition.
There’s also a large selection of clothing for men and women, and my daughter found several items that will work for her here. Being in that in-between tween size, finding so much for her was quite an accomplishment and we really appreciated the large selection and organized layout. You’ll find fitting rooms at the front of the store.
Don’t miss the beautiful jewelry up by the register. You’ll find unique and gorgeous earrings for just a couple of dollars a pair.
Of course, the Safe Harbor Resale Shop benefits Safe Harbor, serving victims of domestic violence in Greenville.

Taylor Watts and Sophia Hill are officially husband and wife!
The Christian TikTok stars known as Taylor and Soph exchanged traditional vows at Heyward Manor, a 650-acre tree farm in Iva, S.C., on Saturday during their "classy and timeless" ceremony.
Ahead of their nuptials, the pair told PEOPLE they couldn't wait for their big day.
"I'm most looking forward to Sophia walking down the aisle," says Watts, 21. "First seeing her I feel like the moment of realization like that, 'Wow, we're about to be united into one. We're about to become one.' "
In a dress by Stella York, from Tiffinie Bleu Bridal, the bride walked down the aisle to "Gratitude" by Brandon Lake on her way to the altar, where she joined Watts and their 12 bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Following the ceremony, a buffet style dinner of house and Caesar salad, antipasto, beef, grilled chicken and three different types of pastas were served before the couple cut into their four-tiered vanilla and buttercream wedding cake.
Wedding Planner Designs Her Own Glamorous Yet Sustainable Big Day — See Her Photos and Top Tips
In posts leading up to wedding day, the couple told social media followers that subscribers to their YouTube channel could get an invite. "We're so excited. You'll literally be able to come from the start of the wedding to the end," Hill said in a post urging people to subscribe. "We'll see you at the wedding."
The couple first connected in February 2020. "We were in our hometown, and we met through some mutual friends," says Hill. "Taylor and I, we started chatting and then we were dating within a week."
Watts popped the question with a ring by Helzberg Diamonds on Nov. 28, 2022.
"We saw no benefit in having a long engagement and we had no true reason to wait," says Hill. "I've looked forward to wedding planning my entire life. I always knew I wanted to do a fun wedding. With it being such a short period of time to plan, it was stressful at times. But overall, it was just really fun. And we wouldn't change anything about having a short engagement."
Hill did the bulk of the wedding planning but says her husband offered his input in one department.
"I helped pick the food," he says. "I picked Italian. That I had a big hand in, but other than that, colors or schemes or anything like that, not my thing."

Now that they're setting into married life, Hill and Watts are looking forward to their future and sharing a home once he finishes classes at the University of Georgia.
"I'm super excited to just be able to live together," says Hill. "Right now, it's not crazy long distance but with him being at school — it's only an hour and a half away — it's somewhat of a long distance."
Watts is also ready to move in with his new wife — and perhaps start a family soon. "I'll just be excited when we can live together and have our own house and be able to do routines together and everything and life together," he says. "And I'm also just very excited to have lots of babies. When we get married, I don't think we'll wait very long. And then once we start, we'll probably keep going for a couple!"

Have you heard about Pinky’s Revenge in Greenville? Were you a kid of the 80s? Did you wear jelly shoes, listen to Thriller on your Sony Walkman, and eat rectangular-shaped pizza every Friday at school?
If you said yes, then hold on to your banana clip – because Pinky’s Revenge is the perfect arcade to get your 80s fix! If you have no idea what most of those things we mentioned are, it’s ok. We are going to tell you all you need to know to understand why you should be excited!
Rewind (who remembers “Be Kind Rewind”) … Rewind back a million years to January 2020. Word that a new arcade venue was opening spread and we couldn’t wait until the May 2020 opening date.
Then things happened. Unforeseeable, unavoidable, unbelievable, and unforgettable things. I watched (ok, maybe stalked is the more appropriate word here) the Pinky’s Revenge social media pages as they documented the slow progress over the past year. My patience paid off when they finally opened in 2021!
If you are a child of the 80s, you will certainly be in heaven. But, don’t worry if you can’t understand why someone would ask “Where’s the beef?”, you’ll enjoy this hop back in time too! You just might not understand why people are losing their minds over rectangle-shaped pizza.
The namesake of this venue is a woman dealing with unrequited love, and she’s not happy about it. Pinky is one of the four main ghosts in the Pac-Man series. Being the only female ghost, she attempts to ambush Pac-Man by moving parallel to him. The Pinky character has been shown to have a crush on Pac-Man, which normally goes unreciprocated, so understandably, she’s not thrilled at the situation.
There are dozens of activities to keep you and your family busy at Pinky’s Revenge! You can even attempt to figure out the trick to making more than a weird-looking square with the Etch-a-Sketch toys that are placed on tables around Pinky’s. Games will be $15 for unlimited gameplay, and access to newer games will be by the hour. The arcade has dozens of gaming consoles and multiple pinball tables to choose from as well!
NOTE: Pinky’s Revenge is currently unable to get old-school pizza due to distribution issues, but stay tuned to their site or social media pages to see if they get it back!
This may be something that you had to be around in the 80s to appreciate now. We old folks were served this weird rectangle-shaped pizza on Fridays in school. Kids now are given slices of circle pizza at school, and the shape totally makes the pizza taste different! Just take my word for it.
Other delicious things on the menu at Pinky’s Revenge include boiled peanuts, White Castle Sliders, nachos, pretzels with nacho cheese, and hot dogs with optional toppings. PLUS you can order off the Weekend Express Menu from The Farehouse!

Katy Perry had this to say about Tripp Taylor, an 18-year-old from Florence, after he auditioned for “American Idol.”
“People are going to remember your name.”
Taylor got rave reviews from all three Idol judges, who joked that Taylor looked like he could be Lionel Richie’s son. Richie said he considered that a compliment.
Taylor had previously said he was most excited about meeting Richie because he was a fan of old soul genre. He elected to sing a Ray Charles tune, “I believe To My Soul,” and accompanied himself on the piano.
In this introduction, he described Florence as “not the biggest town” where there isn’t a lot to do.
“It’s not like the best place for racially ambiguous people,” he said. “But you find the good things to look at whenever there are a lot of bad things around you.”
He said he’s been singing all his life. His dad and sister sing as well.
Judge Luke Bryan said, “I really like your attack at the mike. When you open up … the promising thing is you’ve got your own kind of sound. It’s just the right kind of gravel and grit.”
Perry called Taylor a diamond in the rough.
“You’ve just got all of it. First and foremost is talent. You’ve got the ‘it’ factor. You’ve got the name to go with it. You’ve got humility.”
Richie praised Taylor’s stage presence, but cautioned once he went to the next level — Hollywood — he would find it shocking because everyone thinks they are No. 1.
“I think we can vote this guy into the next part of his life,” Richie said.
Taylor graduated from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville last year and is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, majoring in musical theater.
Beside piano, he plays tenor saxophone and has a large presence on TikTok with more than 345,000 followers and 6.6 million views.
American Idol appears at 8 p.m. Sundays on ABC.

Are you looking for a park in Taylors, SC and thinking about visiting Lincoln Park? With spring weather here (finally) and summer on the horizon, it’s time to start planning activities to occupy little minds and bodies. And it doesn’t hurt for mom’s mind to be occupied too! Lincoln Park in Taylors offers a fun playground, paved path, basketbll courts, and more.
Just a short drive up the road in Taylors, you’ll find Lincoln Park. This park probably won’t win any awards for the playground equipment, but the perfectly maintained grounds are beautiful. Wide open (very) green spaces provide the perfect place to turn your toddlers loose to run. Older children can practice soccer on the grassy expanse or take advantage of the well-manicured baseball field. There’s also a court for those who prefer to shoot hoops.
For more parks with courts, see our playground and parks with courts list!
The whole family can enjoy horseshoes or walk/ride/run on the paved trail. A covered shelter with eight tables provides the only “formal” picnic area (and the only shade). Bring your blanket along with a full basket and enjoy an informal lunch on the grounds. This is our pick- have I mentioned how much I loved the grass? Shade is limited, so don’t forget the sunscreen. Lincoln Park has both restrooms and onsite parking.
The playground consists of five regular slides and one that’s covered. There’s one smaller slide and four swings. Your little ones will not want to wear sandals or flip-flops. The equipment sits in the sand (not my favorite feature). While this may be easy on the body, it can be hard on the feet. A few benches are there for members of your group who prefer to people-watch or read a book.
If your furry family members are in tow, they must be kept on a leash at all times.
